For now, Singh is busy playing the character of a conman who takes girls for a ride in his next film, Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl. Like his part in the romance comedy directed by Maneesh Sharma, Singh admits that he too is somewhat like Bahl in real life. “Ricky is very smooth and charming with the women who are his targets. I am like that at times. I say what a woman wants to hear,” he says.

As for his experience of working with the ladies in the film, Singh adds, “I had fun working with all the actresses. While Parineeta Chopra is very fresh and bubbly, Dipannita Sharma is cool and calm. Aditi Sharma is very cute, while Anushka Sharma is a firecracker and a tigress.”

Anushka, who was rumoured to be dating Singh earlier, recently said that the 26-year-old Singh can’t be taken seriously. “Anushka has said much worse things to my face. She also clarified that she was misquoted. What she really meant was that I am very impulsive,” says Singh.

Singh, who has also been linked with actor Sonakshi Sinha recently, says he is open to dating women from the film industry. “She should be physically attractive to me. She should also have a good personality, be well read, and share similar tastes in food and music with me,” he says

 “Before the song, I don’t think any of her fans could have ever imagined her looking as sexy and glamourous as this,” he says, adding, “The way the film has been picturised is awesome.”

 Ask whether he thinks the song has chances of creating the same excitement that Malaika Arora Khan’s Munni Badnaam Hui… (Dabangg, 2010) and Katrina Kaif’s Sheila Ki Jawaani… (Tees Maar Khan, 2010) did and Lahiri retorts,  “’Ooh La La… has already become a craze. It will rock the nation.”

The music composer, who’s working with director Milan Luthria for the second time, says, “Milan is my lucky director. Earlier, I had sung a song, Bomai Nagaria… for his Taxi Number 9211 (2006), which topped the charts for a long time.”

The yesteryears composer reined the marquee in the ’80s with his compositions in films like Namak Halal (1982), Sharabi (1984) and Ghayal (1990). Claiming to be the pioneer of disco tracks in Hindi film music, the 58-year-old says, “I will be remembered for another 25 years for Ooh La La…’”

The Dirty Picture shows Vidya in her boldest image yet, and is modelled on the life of the south Indian actor Silk Smitha, who rose to fame thanks to her provocative roles, many of which showed her semi-nude. The film also stars Naseeruddin Shah, Tusshar Kapoor and Emraan Hashmi.

“The Queensland University of Technology (QUT) honours me with a doctorate on the 20th of October in Brisbane…deep gratitude,” Amitabh posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.

The 69-year-old will go to accept the honour post his shooting schedule.

“Yes after I finish the shoot for The Great Gatsby, over to Brisbane for the Honorary Doctorate from the Queensland University,” he added.

Meanwhile, Amitabh is enjoying every bit of shooting for his Hollywood debut The Great Gatsby, directed by Baz Luhrmann. He is in awe of the working style on the film, which is an adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic and has Leonardo DiCaprio in the lead.

Arbaaz had last month confirmed that the first draft of the script was ready. They were just waiting for actor Salman Khan’s dates.

Perhaps the schedule dates have been locked now for the film, which will once again see Sonakshi Sinha and Sonu Sood.

Hopes are high from the sequel to Dabangg, which had earned Rs 145 crore.

Arbaaz, whose wife Malaika had grooved to the chartbuster Munni Badnaam Hui in the film, had admitted earlier that he was nervous about the sequel.

“There is a little nervousness for sure as the expectations are high but we would definitely be presenting something good and interesting,” he had said.

The song was shot at a fort in Jigar, near Hyderabad. It was an early morning shoot. Milan wanted his cast and crew on location by 5.30 am, so it was decided that they would spend the night at a wildlife resort since that was the only accommodation available.

The conditions were pretty primitive. The place had no power and not even tarmac roads,” recalls Milan who, along with his team, bumped along to the resort, reaching there late in the night. “We woke up at 3 am and made our way out to be greeted by foxes and wild boars. Some of the crew lost their way in the wilderness and without mobiles, and tracing them was difficult.”

To add to the chaos, when they finally landed at the location, they were enthusiastically welcomed by lakhs of Emraan fans. “It was a predominantly Muslim-dominated place and though they all knew Vidya, it was Emraan they had come to see,” says the director.

And did they get to see what they had come to see? Emraan kissing Vidya? “No,” laughs Milan, “But they did see him do the other thing he’s good at, lip syncing a song.”

The video seems to have been recorded on a mobile phone.

The actor didn’t want to repeat himself. After signing on Yash Chopra’s romantic flick, the actor wanted something unique on his platter, says Jha.

“Shah Rukh loved what Vishal did with Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan in Omkara. They plan to shoot the Bollywood adaptation of Hamlet in the remote areas of North India,” a source told Jha.

This is the third Shakespearean adaptation by filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj. His films Maqbool and Omkara were based on Shakespeare’s Macbeth and Othello respectively.

His 22-year-old daughter has been in touch with him from New York, where she is currently pursuing a career in criminal psychology. “She has stood by all my decisions in life and I have always respected hers. I’m really hoping she likes my solo act as an anchor as well,” says the actor.

Trishala was born to Sanjay’s first wife, actor Richa Sharma, in 1989. She’s lived most of her life with her paternal grandparents and maternal aunt Enna. About two or three years ago, she had expressed the desire to become a Bollywood actor like her father and paternal grandparents, the late Sunil and Nargis Dutt. She had apparently even got a portfolio prepared. When asked if he sees Trishala making her entry into the industry, probably with a film produced by her father, Sanjay puts it straight: “I don’t see my daughters acting in movies because the Dutt girls have never, and as long as I live, will never act in movies. Iqra is still very young to understand what’s going on, but Trishala, I know, is happy with her career choice. And that’s how it should be.”

Sanjay shoots for Bigg Boss 5 once every week at Karjat’s ND Studios. Does Trishala plan to visit her father, stepmother Manyata and twin siblings — sister Iqra and brother Shahraan — any time soon?

“I would love to have her around at least once while I’m shooting this show because she loves it,” says Sanjay, adding, “I don’t want her work to suffer because she flew to India to be with her siblings and me. So, no pressures, but hopes are definitely pinned, as that’s how a father’s heart feels for his daughter, whom he doesn’t see everyday.”

Jacqueline says, “I am excited and gearing up for my first action film.” She has, in the past, shot an ad with the film’s lead actor, Hrithik Roshan when she was new to the city and hadn’t done any films. She says, “I was a random ‘foreign’ model and he was a huge star. I saw him at an award function later, but I didn’t think he would remember me. Even after signing Krissh 3, I didn’t think he would recall me from the ad.”

So, has she met Hrithik yet? “We haven’t met after signing the film. I had a narration and meeting with Rakesh Roshan (director). I don’t know the dates yet,” she says. Is she upset about not being considered for Murder 3, since she was part of the second franchise? “The Bhatts have created a Bond-like franchise and people want to see who the next Murder girl would be. It’s better if they get another actor for the next one.”

“People take a lift to the second floor. Can’t you climb? At airports or in my building, I don’t use escalators,” she says. Deepika is also a sports freak. While it is a known fact that the actor was an avid badminton player before she joined films, she tries and maintains her fitness routine even now. She says that she tries to play sports on outdoor shoots. If she can’t go to the gym, she swims or dances in her room.

Experts also say that it is the best way to keep fit even without doing a rigorous exercise schedule. During her athlete days, when she played badminton, she starting the day running for forty minutes, combined with weight training. Evenings were spent playing badminton for three to four hours, five times a week.

“Because of excessive training, I was tired and took a break from exercising before I turned to yoga a few years ago,” she says. And now, since a month, the actor has taken to a combination of gym and Pilates, with her trainer, Yasmin, who according to Deepika is a “complete taskmaster.”

She says, “If you have someone who only gently nudges you, then you end up being lazy. Yasmin and I have been working out together only for a month, and the best part is that I can already see results.” Deepika further added, “I’ve never had to go through drastic weight loss programmes or crazy regimens, but I feel my body has the potential for a lot more tweaking and definition. Pilates helps with that as it hits the right areas.”

The actor is a non-believer in fad diets and never ever gives in to the temptation of going for those crazy diets in a bid to lose weight fast. Deepika says, ” I never ever go on crash-diets. I never starve myself. I eat in moderation. I do indulge in a small piece of dark chocolate every night so I don’t crave for a full desert.” The actor also shuns the common notion where fitness is misunderstood with size, so she signs off saying, “Fitness doesn’t really mean you have to be thin and skinny.”
